Here are some sounds from Lake Gardner early this morning. And yes, even though it’s Patriot’s Day, I’m still holding “Flow and Restore” at Pause Yoga Amesbury this evening. See you then!

The Winged Energy of Delight

Torn leaf of Basho
Four poems lost to me right now
Who could have done this?
Lately, every time a yoga teacher reads a poem in savasana, whether I have heard it before or not, it has gone straight to my heart. What started this recent trend was the following:
Last night as I was sleeping,
I dreamt—marvellous error!—
that a spring was breaking
out in my heart.
I said: Along which secret aqueduct,
Oh water, are you coming to me,
water of a new life
that I have never drunk?Last night as I was sleeping,
I dreamt—marvellous error!—
that I had a beehive
here inside my heart.
And the golden bees
were making white combs
and sweet honey
from my old failures.Last night as I was sleeping,
I dreamt—marvellous error!—

21-Day Spring Cleanse
It’s that time of year again. Actually, it begins today! This is the spring cleanse I recommend for those of us living in the Northeast US. Charlotte Clews is geeky, fun, and accessible. You won’t be sorry who join us.
Update: it’s a good practice to get out the old and organize what one keeps:
Subbing for Marc St. Pierre
I am so excited to be subbing for Marc St. Pierre at Yoga Śaktí, voted “North Shore’s Best Studio,” next week. I have been studying with Marc for at least a half dozen years, and he is my favorite challenging local teacher. For me it’s an evolution of my practices of yoga, and teaching yoga. Here’s when I’ll be there:
- Wednesday, March 15, 7:30 – 8:45 AM, Intro to Yoga
- Wednesday, March 15, 9:00 – 10:15 AM, Dynamic Yoga
- Saturday, March 18, 9:00 – 10:15 AM, Dynamic Yoga
Updated Teaching Schedule
Please see this page, available from the top level menu, with my updated teaching schedule at Pause Yoga Amesbury.
Mindful on Monday
Mindful Vinyasa at 7 PM tonight!
A Full Week of Teaching Yoga
I’ve a full week of teaching yoga. In addition to my regular Mindful Vinyasa and Form and Flow yoga classes at Pause Yoga Amesbury and Discover the Wonders Yoga in Dracut, respectively, I’ll be subbing for Roberta Dell’Anno’s All Levels Yoga at Essential Yoga Studio in Andover, and for Linda’s Slow Flow class following mine at Discover the Wonders.
I’ll be squeezing the most out of summer!
A little peaceful warrior love
When I reposted MC Yogi’s instagram this morning, I got props in a tweet.
I am definitely burning up my 15 minutes of fame.
It looks like he also got props from Trevor Hall, another peaceful warrior who is a favorite of mine.
But this is great because I first heard of MC Yogi from a yoga teacher, and heard a track by East Forest in Genell Huston’s Expanding class at Lila East End Studio in Portland, ME.
I was listening to Ritual Mystical in the car on the way to and from yoga this morning, and I can’t wait to use it in class.
